Odd Thomas

A story as odd as the title itself, Odd Thomas.
Our hero, we have Anton Yelchin- Odd Thomas or better known as Oddie and our heroin, we have Addison Timlin- Stormy Llewellyn or Stormy.

Watching this movie will bring you memories of the past where you've watched those kind where the hero or heroin can see ghosts. Or spirits or dead people, whatever. But unlike those movies, this movie has it's special elements, the whats-it-called again. Its a weird looking monster which you don't see clearly. I mean, only Oddie sees these things. Let's call the boogers.
*Oddie calls it something else but I couldn't remember the name, sorry.*
They thirst of bloodshed. Not blood, but the scenes and events where people die a lot, suffering or not. They feed on their death. So they somehow help the evil-doing but not really causing it.
Yeah Oddie can stop that if he gets clues and hints. But problem is, he can't let them know that he can see ghosts, or these boogers will kill him.

So now, Oddie is this normal fry cook who works in a restaurant and has a girlfriend. A cute one too, Stormy Llewellyn.
Well, Oddie here also works like an 'undercover cop' or to be really accurate, 'information-giver of the cops' about an upcoming killing scenes or the clues of the previous one left unsolved. His friend, Willem Dafoe or in this movie we call him Chief Porter, he's the one Oddie gives information to. And in return, he helps Oddie every time he gets in trouble while he's at it.
You know, when he has to break into houses to solve things and all and Chief covers up the story for him.

There's this one day, as Oddie went to work and met up with the Chief and Stormy, those boogers came bursting into the restaurant (which only he can see, remember?) and surrounded a nasty looking guy. There was too many of them all at once and it bothered Oddie so much that later, he figured out why. There was going to be a really big slaughter in that little town, and it was so near, he could feel it.
So as he followed his guts to tell the Chief about this feeling he had, he discovered bit by bit about what was going to happen. That nasty guy, he was up to something no good. He was the one planning for the slaughter, only Oddie didn't know where it'll be or when it'll happen. As he tries to dig deeper, he gets himself into trouble.

There are a few things that we have to look forward in an upcoming slaughter. The villain, has to be up to the standards of doing the crime. This nasty guy didn't look convincing. He could kill people, yeah, but just a few. So Oddie figured there were others as he went through nasty's stuff and belongings.
After a while, as he kept collecting more and more clues, he alerted the Chief, who had his young cops looking for clues too, about this slaughter.
But boy, was he wrong to do that!

Oddie's friend who works in the diner with him, Viola, has 2 daughters. And there was this fateful night when Viola had a nightmare where she was at a killing scene where many people died with blood everywhere and in that place, she saw vividly that there was...gushing water, loud crowd screaming and bowling uniforms. Oddie had a bad feeling about it as he had a nightmare too that involved bowling uniforms and people running around telling him to save them. There was also a crazy dude shooting people all around with his machine gun. But he, too, had only seen it all vividly.

Oddie's gift of seeing these things also came with the gift of understanding these things pretty quickly and what they dead has been through before they die, so he asked Viola what she saw, slowly telling him, slowly picturing it for him.

After he asked her that, he sent Stormy home and went home himself. To his surprise, he found a dead body in his bath tub. Whoop dee doo. And funny thing, it was Mr. Nasty. He was shot in the heart. Oddie took him to an abandoned place where he could rot in peace as he figured things out. He knew the villain that did this has something to do with Mr. Nasty and he killed him because he didn't do any good. He left Mr. Nasty with Oddie because he tried to frame him. THUN THUN THUN~
So as he tried to call the Chief, he was on the way to his house. He hung up and the Chief's doorbell rang. He opened it, and he was shot. I repeat. He opened it...and was shot. In the heart.
As Oddie came rushing to the hospital, he got to know that the Chief was saved because of the heart shaped pendant he gave him the other day. It really was heart shaped. Like literally, with the four chambers and stuff? Yeah. You knew who shot him? The young cop he asked to help Oddie, that nimwit.

That fateful day of the slaughter, he told Stormy that she should stay home, but she didn't, so he was cautious about her going to the mall, where she worked in an ice cream shop...because the slaughter could happen anywhere.
So as she went to work, Oddie tried to put the pieces in to solve the puzzle.

The slaughter was to happen at some place where there was a crowd, loudly screaming and cheering, gushing water and it had bowling uniforms included too...but where? The officer who assaulted the Chief was somehow in this with Mr. Nasty. The officer wants to appear in as a hero in the end of this slaughter, pretending to save everyone while Mr Nasty do the dirty work and get the benefit later. That's what he knew. But...what was missing?
He had a bad feeling about it...so he went where his gut leads him...
...and guess where it was heading to? The mall.

He got out of his car, and he saw...a police car. The one Officer Varner drives. He hurried inside to the staff's camera room, and he found all the guards unconscious, which proved one of the accomplice was there. So Oddie smacked him in the head with a baseball bat and ran out to find Stormy. He came out to the biggest hall of the mall and he realized...he was right. There was, a fountain, where the water gushes, the electronic shop was nearby and crowds in the tv show was screaming, chanting. He looked around...and there it was, a group of bowling staffs with their uniforms on, eating lunch. His guts were clenching and he started to panic. He looked up...and saw a burst of hell. The boogers were swarming in from the walls.

Somebody creamed, "He has a gun!!!" and the crowd went bazooks. Oddie ran for Stormy, and minutes after, the shooting began. The machine gun was out and about, so people were screaming and running. Oddie had to go through the running and screaming crowd to get to Stormy. As he went there, he got out the gun he stole from the accomplice earlier and started shooting at the machine gun lunatic. He only had 4 bullets so he aimed.
Alas, 3 were misled thanks to the boogers who tried to stop him. But 1 of it hit him. He collapsed and the mall was silent.

He walks slowly to the ice cream shop, hoping with all his heart that Stormy was still alive and breathing, entered and went to the counter. Then sweet Stormy got up, all smeared in ice cream and crying out of shock, smiled to him. But right then, he heard a scream. It wasn't over yet?!!

He took off the mask of the machine gun lunatic. It wasn't the Officer. It was Mr. Dog. He's involved too?!! (watch to know :3) He ran to where his gut leads him again and he ended up in the loading area. There it was. A white sealed van. He's seen that somewhere. In Mr.Nasty's house, there was a picture of it! He opened the back...and surprise bitchaaasss, BOMBS. Barrels and barrels of it, one on top of another. Just then, a booger possessed a guy who was walking out to shoot the barrels. Oddie was faster so he closed the lids before anything happens. He turned and it was another Officer. One of the ones the Chief asked to help him. Urgh, now he knew.

Oddie climbed to the driver's seat and drove the van away to the desert. The Officer was hanging from the passenger's window, trying to get inside all along. He shot the doors, trying to kill Oddie to stop the van but Oddie avoided it, obviously. Smart of Oddie, he got out of the van while it was still moving, just in time the bombs was within 3 seconds of ignition. And so in a pit the van went and exploded, avoiding killing a lot of people.

Haaaaaaaaaaa.....

Oddie woke up from his unconsciousness in the hospital with Stormy next to him, waiting for him...
Turns out, the whole town knew he was the one who saved them so they cheered for him as he was recovering from his wounds. He went home, to Stormy's house, with her, and spent so many kissing moments with her...

"We didn't talk...we didn't need to. But we never get tired of kissing..."
was what Oddie said, when...the Chief came over.

"It's time son...the coroner has released her body. It's time to move on..."

UGH. I knew it was too good to be true T^T nooooooo~~~

Stormy died. Stormy was dead...she died in the ice cream shop. When she got up, Oddie was too blinded too actually see that she was dead...he didn't want to accept reality as it was too painful for him...

That poor little puppy, Oddie... T^T

"She's in here, isn't she?" said the Chief, containing his own tears as Oddie's flowed non-stop down his lonely cheeks...

"You have to let go of her, son..." he said again, gripping Oddie's little heart, making it hard even for me to breathe...
But he did. He let go of her...but he promised that they will be together soon enough...

...and off Stormy went...

*cries cries cries cries cries*
